The One Person Project Uses BigSteelBox to Collect and Transport Donations

BigSteelBox shipping container used to transport goods to TanzaniaBigSteelBox is proud to support many organizations that use our containers to collect donations for some very worthy causes across Canada each year.

A Summerland, BC, organization called The One Person Project is a group that is preparing to send their fourth 40-foot shipping container - full of much needed supplies - to Kahama, Tanzania.

Brenda Lowe heads up The One Person Project, manages the collection of the supplies, arranges the delivery of the donations, and actually meets the container in Kahama to ensure that all its contents arrive at their final destination. To date there have been seven self-funded One Person volunteers trips.

“We will be supplying the Muvuma Orphanage in Kahama, Tanzania, with a brick-making machine, which will help provide a sustainable income for the orphanage,” says Lowe. “When this 4th container arrives in Kahama, it will be placed at site to be used as a secure place to operate a brick business from. It’s so exciting to be able to provide a conduit to help make a real and lasting difference in the lives of children and families in our sponsored communities.”

The project also provides hospital equipment and cribs, children’s clothing and sports equipment, as well as office materials and non-electric tools. Congratulations to everyone involved with The One Person Project!
