Our moving service allows you to take your time packing. Your BigSteelBox rents by the month so you can take 4 days or 4 weeks all for the same price!
BE IN CONTROL OF YOUR MOVE
Because you can load your BigSteelBox yourself, you’ll rest easy knowing your things have been packed and handled with care, and you keep the key.

Our moving containers are weather and rodent-proof. They also come equipped with a steel lock box that protects your padlock from bolt cutters.
FLEXIBLE DELIVERY & PICK UP
We’ll deliver and pick up your BigSteelBox on your schedule. If you need it longer, or if you need storage in between homes, that’s no problem!
How does it work?
Step 1
We deliver a BigSteelBox moving container to your current home as far in advance of your move as you need. You can take your time packing and loading.
Step 2
When you’re ready, give us a call. We’ll pick up your BigSteelBox and move it to your new home. Or, if you need storage in between homes, we’ll move your container to our secure storage facility until you need it delivered to your new home.
Step 3
After your BigSteelBox has been delivered to your new home, take your time unpacking it. When it’s empty, just let us know and we’ll come pick up the empty container.
Step 1
We make it easy to move to a new city or province! We’ll deliver a BigSteelBox moving container to your current home as far in advance of your move as you need. You can take your time loading it.
Step 2
When you’re ready, give us a call. We’ll pick up your BigSteelBox and move it to your local BigSteelBox store where it will be safely stored until it’s picked up by a long haul trucking company to be transported to your new city.
Step 3
When your BigSteelBox arrives in your new city, it will be delivered to the local BigSteelBox store. We’ll let you know when it arrives, so you can either schedule a delivery to your new home, or keep it in our storage yard until your new home is ready.
Step 4
When you’re done unpacking your BigSteelBox at your new home, just give us a call and we’ll come pick up the empty container.
Step 1

When you’re ready, give us a call. We’ll pick up your BigSteelBox and move it to your local BigSteelBox storage facility.
Step 3
When your new home is ready, contact your Storage Consultant and we will deliver your BigSteelBox to your new home. Take your time unpacking.
Step 4
Let us know when you’re done unpacking, and will come pick up the empty container.

About our moving containers.
Weather
Our moving containers are built for the Canadian climate. They’re weather and rodent-proof, so your things will be safe and secure year-round.
Sizes
We rent moving containers in a variety of sizes: 8’, 10’ and 20’. The contents of a typically furnished 2 – 4 bedroom home will usually fit into a 20’ BigSteelBox.
Security
Our new rental containers come equipped with a Lock Box. This heavy steel shield surrounds your padlock and protects it from bolt-cutters.
Rodents
BigSteelBoxes have rubber gaskets along both sides of the doors, which creates a tight seal. This keeps mice and rats out.
20,000 lbs. Weight Capacity
A 20′ BigSteelBox can hold up to 20,000 lbs. That’s more than four times the weight capacity of most 16′ moving containers!
Tie Down Hooks
D-ring hooks are located every 4ft. along the top and bottom edges of the inside of the container to make it easy to secure your load for transport.
Update: Thank you for reaching out here, however we have not noticed any missed calls. My daughter who was the holder of the box has called Big Steel Box a few times to talk to someone and has received refunds to her card, which is appreciated. Thank you for attempting to make right what happened. After paying 3 years of storage at your facility (Michael McCallum) how can you deliver the wrong storage container, take almost 3 hours to find and deliver the correct one….and not a sorry, my mistake, nothing…not the last you have heard from us…
I really wish I would have gone with another option as this company was nothing but an issue pretty much from the start.
We got a quote for our move, everything looked good so we accepted, paid a deposit and requested the bin for drop off. When it was packed we scheduled the pick up and what we thought was the approval to ship it. Unfortunately, the bin never left the bigsteelbox yard, so when we arrived at our new location in a new province we didn't have access to the bin. When we called to inquire where it was, we were told it wasn't sent and that it was waiting in the yard still. Speaking with management at this location, we were told it was our fault for not notifying them to send it out. We asked the manager for a discount because of the delay and then he never got back to us, even when I left 2 messages and multiple emails... nothing. They advertise a discount of 10% off for referrals, and I would have given a referral if they had better customer service but I won't be and I suggest if you use this company to call about the status of your bin regularly. To respond to your message below. Authorization was provided to charge the card on file for pick up and to start the shipment process. When we spoke to the manager he said he checked the phone call transcripts but when we asked if he had checked the call with Janelle he hadn't, so we asked him to check all the phone call transcripts. Maybe some are missing from your system or there was an error? He never responded with what he found. He did leave me a voice-mail after this review was posted, but I would l rather communicate by email.
