BigSteelBox Media Backgrounder

BigSteelBox, Canada’s fastest growing moving and storage company is taking the lead in expansion and innovation as part of their ongoing effort to make moving and living better. With more locations across Western Canada than any other mobile container storage company, BigSteelBox is a key player in the multi-billion dollar moving and storage industry.

BigSteelBoxes are 8’ to 53’ containers made of eight-gauge, ISO certified, ship worthy steel. They are used for storage and moving, but can be modified for virtually any custom specifications, including offices, housing, restaurants, guard shacks, mobile labs and radio station remote broadcasting centres.

With its head office in Kelowna, BigSteelBox has 18 full service locations across British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. The company has been built around the idea that a BigSteelBox is a better way to store stuff, whether the stuff is thousands of dollars worth of tools on a construction site, or thousands of dollars worth of shoes in your back yard.

BigSteelBox brings the storage directly to the customer and eliminates some of the most stressful aspects of moving and storage. New BigSteelBoxes have hardwood floors, bright white paint jobs and arrive clean before delivery. Containers are wind and waterproof, rodent-proof, fire-resistant, and secured by lockbox. Mobile storage is delivered by truck to the customer and left for as long as needed for packing. The BigSteelBox is then picked up and moved to the next location or stored in one of BigSteelBox’s secure locations.

Established in 1999, BigSteelBox is a family-run company that has built its success through outstanding customer service, while consistently providing innovative products and services.

BigSteelBox launched BigSteelBox Structures, a modified containers division featuring BigSteelBoxes turned into living quarters and offices for construction and industrial sites in remote areas across the country. BigSteelBox Structures are changing the way people look at shipping containers as they are more secure, more durable and portable option than wood frame construction for mobile living quarters, offices, labs, kitchens and much more for the oil & gas, mining and construction industries. Moving a modified Box is easier than a trailer or prefab home.

Supportive of community fundraising, BigSteelBox sponsors many community events including Victoria’s Jumpship FreeRide Competition, Kelowna’s Centre of Gravity and Rider Pride in Regina.
