Can I order online?
Of course! Just fill out our get a quote form and a BigSteelBox storage consultant will contact you to finalize your order and arrange for delivery.
How many BigSteelBoxes will I need?
There are a lot of variables, but in most cases you can move the contents (excluding appliances) of a 2 to 3 bedroom home in one 20’ BigSteelBox. Homes of more than 3 bedrooms will usually require an additional 10’ or 20’ container.
What if I don’t know what I need?
Our qualified storage consultants know what questions to ask to help you determine what is your best storage solution. He or she will ask you about what you need to store, how long you will need a storage, and what options and modifications you might need. The more information you can provide, the better we can help you!
How do I rent a storage unit?
To begin the rental process, you will need a valid Visa or Mastercard and you will need to fill out a rental agreement. Once this is done, we can usually deliver your BigSteelBox within 24 hours.
How do I buy a storage unit?
You can pay by Visa or Mastercard or by pre-paid cheque. You can call and order by phone or you can come down to your nearest BigSteelBox store to pick out your Box and make arrangements.
Delivery
How fast can my storage unit be delivered?
Delivery time depends on a variety of factors, which include our availability of BigSteelBoxes and delivery vehicles, the distance from our store to the delivery location, the number of units you need and the kind of modifications you may require.
Do I have to be present for the delivery of my storage unit?
We would prefer that you or a designated contact person be present the first time we deliver your BigSteelBox. However, if this is not possible, talk to your storage consultant about other options.
How do I arrange for delivery?
Your storage consultant will ask you about how the container is to be placed on your property, if the area is paved or not, if there are overhead wires or shrubbery, and any other pertinent information.
What kind of truck will you use to deliver my storage container?
The photos in our photo gallery will give you a good idea of what to expect from our trucks.
Modifications
Can I get shelving in my storage container?
Shelving is one of our most popular accessories. We can install shelving brackets on one, two or three sides of your BigSteelBox. Please note: Because we cannot anticipate what you will be storing on shelves, we have to leave it to you to provide the actual shelves.
What other kinds of modifications can I get on my storage container?
BigSteelBox can perform virtually any modification on any of our units – just ask!
How much do modifications cost?
It depends on what you’re having done. Your storage consultant can give you an exact quote before your place your order.

How secure are BigSteelBox storage containers?
BigSteelBox storage containers are wind and water tight to protect your valuables from the elements. BigSteelBoxes have heavy-gauge steel, and have extra-strong cross members and corner posts, which further deter thieves from breaking and entering. In addition, our rented storage containers are fitted with our special Lock Box system that hinders tampering with your container’s contents. We also offer the Puck Lock system which can be viewed at our stores. In addition, window guards can be installed on any of our office containers.
